Do you know about our Bridge Program option?

Now Enrolling Grades K-9th for the fall of 2018-2019 The Ambrose School Bridge Program provides a classical Christian education where students attend class two days a week and follow Bridge Program lesson plans at home the other three days. This program provides the same education as our 5-day program but at a substantially lower cost. It is also perfect for parents who want to be more closely involved in their student’s education or need the flexibility of a 2-day program. The Bridge Program helps families “The Bridge Program has been a huge blessing to our family! First and foremost my children love school, and that hasn’t always been the case. My younger children struggled with learning and things like reading & writing were very difficult for them. The teachers with the Bridge Program have changed that! They have helped my children develop skills that I was having a hard time teaching. I love being with my children, but I didn’t feel equipped to continue schooling them into the older years. The Bridge Program takes the pressure off of me as the sole teacher, and is a perfect match for our family.” – Kim Crenshaw, Bridge Program parent LEARN MORE Questions? Interested in applying? We met the challenge! Thank you to all who donated!

UPDATE! Thanks to God’s blessing and the extreme generosity of our community, we were able to match the $500,000 challenge! Thank you to everyone who donated, and we plan to break ground on those much-needed classrooms in late spring/early summer.   From now through December 31, every dollar you pledge to The Ambrose School has the potential to be doubled. If $500,000 can be raised, a friend of Ambrose will match it! THE CHALLENGE A friend of the school has issued a challenge to our community — raise $500,000 by December 31st, 2017, and they will match it! If we are able to meet this challenge, we could potentially break ground in the spring on the next phase of our building plan which will include a classroom wing: orchestra, choir, classroom space restrooms new science lab   Then, we will begin on our final phase, the Great Hall, which will be both a student dining hall and performing arts theater. Our Faithful to the Vision Campaign has already completed our very busy auxiliary gym (how did we live without it?)   All one-time gifts or pledges spread over three years count toward this matching challenge! MEET THE CHALLENGE and MAKE THE PLEDGE! And do you know about the Idaho Education Tax Credit? It lets you support The Ambrose School with dollars you would otherwise pay on your Idaho Income Tax Return. Even more amazing.. a gift of $2,000 doubles to $4,000 with the match, but it only costs you $300 out of pocket with the tax credit. That is a 6x multiplying of your gift. Crazy, but true! LEARN MORE Want to help but need to wait until the new year? That’s ok! Simply make a pledge and let us know how much you will be giving – it will count toward the challenge! Want to help with something besides cash? A gift of securities or item donation also counts! There are many WAYS TO GIVE! For questions, please contact Davies Owens  at (208) 639-6434 or dowens@theambroseschool.org. Thank you for supporting classical Christian education in the Treasure Valley The Ambrose School is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

BaseCamp LIVE: Anxiety Free Learning and Living

Modern education is an education in anxiety. Teaching has largely become a technical trade designed to instill efficiently in students a volume of information so that students will prove their knowledge using quantifiable testing data. And most school days are made up of rapid fire classes of often disconnected subjects. Most students today end up with fully loaded afternoons of rushing to practices or music lessons concluding with a full night of homework. Check lists and economic pressures have made what was once an enjoyable experience of “joyful discovery” into a frantic process of cramming, testing and all too often, forgetting. Is it possible to regain more of a contemplative life and educational experience in the midst of a modern world? Yes! Chris Perrin shares how. LISTEN NOW Chris Perrin has been a part of the classical education movement since 1996: first as a headmaster (and Latin teacher) of a classical Christian school in Pennsylvania and then as a publisher, author, and consultant with Classical Academic Press. Mr. Perrin also serves as Vice Chair of the Society for Classical Learning , an organization dedicated to promoting and supporting classical Christian education in the U.S. and abroad. Director of the Alcuin Fellowship, Chris leads a fellowship of educators committed to the renewal of classical education by means of writing, publishing, training and hosting educator retreats. Bridge Program off to a great start!

Our new 2-day Bridge Program kicked off a brand new school year this week with 58 students representing 32 families! The Bridge Program is an educational model where instruction is shared between a Bridge teacher on campus and parents at home. Students receive classroom experience coupled with the benefits of homeschooling. An on-campus Bridge Program teacher provides students with instruction on Tuesdays and Thursdays while parents use our lesson plans to teach the other three days at home. Students completing the Bridge Program receive an Ambrose diploma. Interest continues to grow in the program, and we are anticipating rapid growth in the coming years. Currently meeting at Valley Life Christian Church, future plans include housing the program across the street on the Ambrose campus. Check us out on Facebook! If you haven’t already, please consider liking The Ambrose Bridge Program on Facebook. Learn more about our new option for Treasure Valley families that offers a classical Christian education two days on campus and three days at home with The Ambrose School curriculum. The Ambrose Top 5 Show

You and your kids are getting ready to leave for school Monday morning and you think to yourself “Now, what am I supposed to remember for this week?” Right about then, you get a text on your phone and a link to the Ambrose Top 5 Show. As you climb in the car, you hit play, and listen to our Ambrose media students give you a quick summary of the five most important things going on at school this week. But that’s not all! You all get a good laugh out of the Joke of the Week, submitted by a student, and have something to ponder after the weekly Bible verse and devotion. Now that you’re in the know, the week goes a little smoother. Parents, watch your phone (via our Parent Alert texting system) and email for a link to the Top 5 Show around 6:55 am on Mondays. The show is audio only. It may take a few seconds to load on your phone. Hit the play button to begin.
