Amanda Smith announced as National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist
Congratulations to senior Amanda Smith who was recently announced as one of only 83 students in all of Idaho to qualify as a National Merit Scholar semi-finalist. Amanda is among 16,000 students nationwide named as semi-finalists in the prestigious National Merit scholarship. The National Merit Scholarships are funded by the National Merit Scholarship Corp, U.S. corporations and colleges and universities. These finalists will have an opportunity to compete for about 7,500 National Merit Scholarships, which total more than $31 million. It is expected that 90 percent of the total semi-finalists will attain “finalist” standing, and half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship and earn the “Merit Scholar” title. To qualify for this award, students must take the Preliminary-SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). The highest-scoring students in each state are then selected as semi-finalists. To become a finalist, the semifinalists’ schools then submit a detailed scholarship application, detailing a student’s academic record, participation in activities, demonstrated leadership ability, employment, and honors and awards he or she has received. The student must also be endorsed and recommended by a high school official, write an essay, and earn SAT scores that reflect his or her high score on the PSAT.

Show your cross country and volleyball spirit! We are trying a new way of ordering team gear & logo wear this year so PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE MESSAGE. The opportunity to purchase gear is only available for a short time. The store will be open for purchase August 6th-14th. Once the store is closed we cannot order more items and it will take 2-3 weeks to receive your gear. Gear will be delivered to Ambrose and you can pick them up in the Uniform Closet. FOR VOLLEYBALL: Please notice that the zip up jacket and sweat pants are for VARSITY PLAYERS ONLY. Varsity Players will not be receiving sweat suits as part of their uniform from the school. These items will need to be purchased. Varsity Players will be allowed to wear the zip up jacket to school and in the classroom on game days. Teams will not be picked until the 11th so maybe hold off on ordering until you are certain which team your daughter makes. Class of 2018 Graduation
The Class of 2018 Commencement Exercises will be held at The Cathedral of the Rockies in downtown Boise on May 25th at 6:30 pm. There will be a reception immediately following.
The 8th grade drama team presents ‘Pygmalion’ April 27 & 28
Our 8th grade drama students present “Pygmalion” at 7:00 pm Friday, April 27th & Saturday, April 28th in the auxiliary gym. Tickets are $3 each or $10 per family at the door.
