NURTURING THE HEART & SOUL
At The Ambrose School, we are committed to shaping students who love God, seek truth, and live in the light of His Word. This work begins with the heart, not just the mind, and we undertake it in full reliance on God’s grace. In partnership with parents who faithfully attend a local church, we seek to shape students’ spiritual development through the following activities.
Discipleship in the Classroom
We believe education is discipleship. Our teachers lead by example, guiding students to apply biblical truth in every aspect of life. With Scripture as the foundation, they integrate a Christian worldview into every subject, helping students see the unity of God’s truth across all disciplines.
Exordium Gatherings
Worship and formation are woven together in our Exordium gatherings, which are regular assemblies that combine Scripture, music, and reflection to mark meaningful moments in the life of Christ and His Church. The Exordia are adapted from historic Christian worship and serve to deepen spiritual understanding and community.
Upper School House Life
In the Upper School, the House system provides the basis for service, peer discipleship, and mentoring opportunities. Students also participate in an annual House retreat which is designed to encourage spiritual growth, strengthen friendships, and develop unity. These retreats, held at the start of the school year, set a tone of discipleship and reflection that carries throughout the year.
Parent Resources
We also strive to support parents by offering educational resources and tools that empower them in their important role as the primary guides in their children’s spiritual formation. We regularly bring in outside speakers who offer parents encouragement and actionable steps to take as they seek to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
