Our Team

I have been leading classical Christian schools since 2008, and my great passion is to assist families in the education of their children toward a Biblical worldview that acknowledges Christ as the author and perfector of the Christian faith.  I am committed to the classical Christian model of education and enjoy introducing families to its many benefits. I also put a strong emphasis on building and maintaining student culture.

After leading schools in Texas, Kansas and North Idaho, my family and I settled in Boise at The Ambrose School. My wife Rachel and I have been married for over 25 years and we have three boys, two of whom graduated from Ambrose and one in the class of 2033.

While prayerfully researching education options for our oldest child, my husband and I became convinced that classical Christian education is the most effective method for raising our children to love the Lord whole-heartedly, think deeply from a Biblical worldview, love truth, goodness and beauty, and share the gospel winsomely.

This conviction led us to serve on the founding board of Cross Classical Academy (CCA) in 2010. When my husband accepted a cardiology position in Boise in 2015, our family relocated to Idaho where our two children continued their journey in classical Christian education at The Ambrose School. 

We are deeply committed to the school’s mission and are daily blessed by the community of exceptional staff and families. It has been an honor to serve at the Ambrose Bridge Campus since its conception in 2016. 

As a family, we enjoy spending time outdoors: hiking, mountain biking, running, rafting, camping, skiing as well as cooking and enjoying time with family and friends.

My love for learning and classical Christian education began early with an excellent homeschooling education that included taking classes with Andrew Kern. In graduate school, I studied medieval literature and education, writing my dissertation on the role of dramatic and rhetorical performance in medieval learning. After teaching 5th and 12th grade at The Ambrose School, I took on my current role as Academic Dean, a position I have been in for over ten years. As Academic Dean, it’s my privilege to work with and support a fantastic team of teachers here at Ambrose, and to guide our curriculum and academic programs.

My husband and I have three daughters who attend Ambrose, and when not at school, you can find me out exploring beautiful Idaho, traveling, reading, gathering with friends, or doing Crossfit.

I have been part of The Ambrose School community for more than ten years, and during that time I have grown both personally and professionally. I began as a substitute teacher, where I built strong relationships and developed a deep appreciation for the school’s mission before moving into a second-grade teaching role at the Bridge Campus. In addition to teaching in the classroom, I have enjoyed supporting students through tutoring and partnering with parents to help their children thrive.

Having been part of the Bridge Campus in its early years, it has been a joy to watch it grow into the thriving community it is today. I am also an Ambrose parent, with two graduates and one current student, which has given me a meaningful perspective on the lasting impact of the school. I look forward to continuing to serve our students, families, and faculty in new ways.

Classical Christian education appeals to me because of its aim for students to become reflective, attentive people who grow into life long lovers of truth. I have chosen to work at The Ambrose School because of its vision for students to become whole persons, to develop sound thinking, and to cultivate rightly ordered loves. It is from great literature that I desire to teach my students and, with them, to enjoy the time-tested stories that have inspired imaginations, to experience the rhetoric that stirred nations, and to know the movements of history roused by great men and women throughout the ages. The power of the Word transforms, and nothing compares to the encountering and sharing of a great book and its ideas. My vision is to invite students into this conversation. In all this, I want my students to recognize the Good, the True, and the Beautiful; and, in this recognizing and remembering, be moved to conform their lives to it.

When I am not teaching, I am very likely studying theology or trying to wrangle up students to go to Rwanda with me or seeking out long conversations with friends. And if not these, I can often be found outside doing something, usually in the form of bird hunting, fishing, or working in the garden.

I was first introduced to Ambrose by the recommendation of a number of families. After touring the school myself, I quickly learned this is where I wanted my children educated. I myself was educated in a Christian school, but what a difference to be in an environment where Christ is woven throughout the entire day, in every subject. I began spending time volunteering at the school as often as possible, and by my children’s second year I joined the staff as the Bridge Office Manager. The following year I took over the Admissions Director position. It is a joy to work in a community of like-minded believers, and to be a part of the ministry that God is doing through Ambrose.

My husband, Chuck, and I have been married for over 19 years and have three boys: Derek, Gavin, and Ryan. As a family we enjoy spending time outdoors; camping, snowboarding, dirt biking, boating, and traveling.

I spent over 20 years in the corporate world as an insurance underwriter before beginning the incredible adventure of homeschooling. After homeschooling for many years, teaching at several Christian homeschooling co-ops as well as at a virtual school, we were introduced to Ambrose. We were immediately drawn to Ambrose due to its natural and intentional weaving of God into the heart and center of every subject. Since joining the Ambrose community, we’ve found it to be a wonderful fit for our family and truly appreciate the beauty and richness of the Classical Christian approach to education.

I grew up in California and met my husband, Jeff, while living and working in Nevada. We moved our family to Idaho in 2018 and love calling it home. We’ve been married for almost 20 years and are blessed with two daughters. One is a 2026 Ambrose Bridge graduate and now attending Cedarville University, while the other is a Junior on the Bridge campus. Through Ambrose, we’ve all made many wonderful friendships.

As a family, we love attending and serving in our church, traveling to new places, spending time with family, having friends over for nights of fun, food, and laughter, hanging out with our two dogs, biking along the Boise Greenbelt, and going on hikes. In the summer, you’ll often find us enjoying evenings on our backyard patio, and when winter comes, we’re usually cozied up under throw blankets, watching a movie together.

I am honored to be serving as Event Coordinator and Grammar School Intern at the Ambrose Bridge Campus. My family was thrilled to discover Classical Christian education, having been introduced to it through homeschooling our son. The more I’ve learned about this rich and intentional approach to education, the more deeply I’ve come to appreciate its emphasis on truth, goodness, and beauty, all rooted in a Christ-centered worldview.

I’m married to Brad, and we have three children. Two are grown and our youngest, Oliver, who attends the Bridge Campus. As a family, we’ve been blessed by the rhythms of classical learning and the way it cultivates both the heart and the mind.

I’m truly thankful to be part of this school community and excited to continue learning and serving throughout the year.

My parents started a private Humanities school in California when I was a young child. It was through my front row seat that the importance of parent involvement education rooted in God’s Word was imparted to me. With my Mom as a Shakespeare teacher and my Dad as an Engineer I had the best of both worlds, seeing humanities integrated in math and science. 

My journey in teaching began after a full career working for a Fortune 500 company. I was given the opportunity to substitute teach a university course that one of my colleagues taught. I fell in love with sharing my testimony, skills and insight to the next generation, so I returned to get an MBA. I have over 10 years teaching experience at the college level in Accounting, Strategy, Finance, and Economics. With over 2,350 verses in the bible concerning money, possessions, and stewardship, we cannot ignore that money is weaved in nearly every aspect of our lives. I also enjoy keeping my toes in the corporate world as a freelance consultant for a private equity firm. 

I have been married to my very own rocket scientist for 18 years, and we have three children together.

Originally from Arizona, I relocated to Idaho in 2022 and have thoroughly enjoyed making it my home. Family has always been a central part of my life. As the only girl with three brothers, I grew up valuing strong relationships and meaningful connections. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends and making the most of every opportunity to connect with the people who matter most.

I am engaged to my fiancé, Derek, and we are excited to be getting married at the end of 2026. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, exploring the outdoors, and pursuing interests in skincare, wellness, and aesthetics. Whether I’m discovering a new coffee shop, exploring Idaho’s beautiful landscapes, or enjoying time with loved ones, I appreciate staying active and finding joy in life’s everyday moments.

I am honored to be joining a team of individuals who share my values and faith. I look forward to growing alongside such a supportive and encouraging group as we continue to serve, learn, and strengthen one another.

I grew up in Oregon, fully homeschooled, as the fifth generation on a family owned ranch since 1906. My parents emphasized hard work and honest, godly character in all we did. I had a great love for all the animals and life on the farm. After moving to Idaho in 2000, I pursued and received a degree in Agricultural Business and also became licensed in the state of Idaho for Bovine Artificial Insemination. My husband Eric and I were married in 2004 and together we worked on a farm in Sweet, Idaho. 

I became a part of the Ambrose School as a parent in 2019 when our oldest son joined as a kindergartener. The following year I stepped into the role of teaching Pre-K on the Bridge Campus.  It has been a great privilege to have the opportunity to work collaboratively with parents of little ones who have already started and desire to continue to build a strong foundation in Christ in their kids’ lives. I enjoy this community and its longing to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Savior, reflecting Him in virtue and character, and also equipping students to express persuasively their faith and reason. For Pre-K this primarily is a time of planting and watering the first seeds of what is good, true, and beautiful and trusting the Lord to grow it to completion in a fully abundant harvest, because growth, like life itself, is a gift of God.

I home-educated my children for the past 7 years until our family moved to Meridian this past October, when we were blessed to enroll our kids in the Ambrose Bridge program. Having strived to give them the best classical education we knew how, we’re grateful for the privilege they now have to learn alongside friends and from teachers who are encouraging them to grow in their love for Christ and all that is good, true, and beautiful. 

I am looking forward to working with Pre-K students this next year as they transition to the school classroom for the first time. I previously taught a Pre-K/Kindergarten combo class and enjoy the opportunity to show these little ones the love of Christ and to lay a foundation of habits for learning in school that will allow them to flourish in their love for learning as they advance in their education. 

My husband and I have been married for 14 years and have 4 wonderful children. We enjoy being outdoors and being active together.

I love to share biblical truth and am excited to be part of a school that allows the Lord to be first and foremost in education. My experience includes teaching and directing a homeschool group for seven years using the classical Christian education model, and serving as a speaker and trainer at multiple classical education conferences.

I am married to a wonderful and supportive husband and have two daughters, who both graduated from the Bridge Campus.

My introduction to Classical Christian Education began while my husband was serving as the youth pastor for a local ministry in Meridian, Idaho. Several of the students we worked with attended The Ambrose School, and we found ourselves on campus often for games, Pastor Appreciation brunches, coffee shop meets, and thesis presentations. I was soon afforded the opportunity to observe a few classes in the Upper School of the Locust Grove campus while pursuing an education degree, and I fell in love with the dynamic I saw in the classroom between the students and the faculty alike. While my major changed, the passion sparked in those observations has never left me. Soon after, our daughter was coming close to entering Kindergarten, and my husband and I could not bring ourselves to be more enthusiastic about any other setting but the one we had come to know at The Ambrose School. We loved the thought of our girls coming to a school invested in their relationship with Jesus and their entire personhood in partnership with us as parents.

My husband and I have been married for almost 10 years, and in that time, God has blessed us with two precious girls. Together we serve our church out of our home and have been blessed by how God has moved in the lives of those we minister to. In our free time, our family enjoys being outside, are avid readers, and loves family movie nights.

We first heard about Christian Classical Education when my oldest daughter was just a toddler. Having been a teacher for 6 years in the public school system, I was very intrigued by an education model centered on the biblical worldview in a traditional way of teaching and seeks to form Godly character in students. It was exactly what we would want our girls to have. Then the Lord led our family out of California in 2016. We came to Boise not knowing anyone or having any family, but we knew God had brought us here for a purpose. We purchased our home in the Three Corners community behind where the Ambrose Locust Grove Campus is located, unbeknownst to us at the time, that would be the beginning of our connection to Christian Classical Education in Idaho. We enrolled our daughter in kindergarten the following year and have been impressed by the fruit of the classical model ever since!

I have a passion for education excellence and building faith in the next generation. I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to help further Gospel-centered education in the lives of Ambrose students alongside their parents.

I am married to an amazing husband and have two daughters who both attend Ambrose Bridge. In my spare time, I enjoy baking bread & cooking, fellowshipping with friends and traveling with my family and our two dogs.

My husband Josh and I have three beautiful children and I began homeschooling them when we were making our transition from Asia back to the United States. I had the blessing of instructing my children from pre-k through sixth grade. Over the years I have taught 5th/6th grade, pre-k/k, and directed at classical homeschool co-ops. I am so excited to be a part of our growing Ambrose community.

My husband and I both grew up in western Montana in the Bitterroot Valley, but since our wedding we have been on a journey that has taken us around the globe. Josh served in the Navy for nearly thirty years and as a family we have had the opportunity to live in France, Virginia, California, the Philippines, and Hawaii. We are so thankful for the opportunity to have experienced so many different locations and cultures, the adventure has shaped us greatly. Before we moved to Idaho, we lived for eight years in the tropics. Our favorite way to pass the time was on the water: sailing, surfing, and swimming. While it was difficult to say goodbye to the beach, moving to Idaho drew Josh and I back to our mountain roots, reminded us that there are four seasons in most of the world, and revived a passion for the winter sports we enjoyed as kids. Over the past few years our children have fallen in love with new sports such as skiing, mountain biking, and running cross country.

As I moved around the world and observed how God uses education to empower people to change lives, communities and societies, He lit a fire within me for children’s education that still burns bright.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Education with a focus on Special Education and a certification to teach English as a second language. Throughout my time in college, I had the opportunity to teach in a variety of different settings including a Montessori school and a Waldorf inspired rural school in Brazil. Ultimately, I decided that being in an environment that encouraged its teachers to speak about their faith was my greatest priority. Speaking to my friends at UT that attended classical Christian schools, I was fascinated by the intentionality that had gone into their education; as one of my friends always put it: teaching one how to think vs. what to think. I’m very excited to teach in a community that focuses not only on the minds of its students, but equally on their hearts and souls. 

My husband, Ben, and I got married after graduation, and we’re very excited to make Boise our home. A couple fun things about me are that I’m Brazilian and I speak Portuguese fluently. When I have the time, I love to bake, try new food, travel, and make crafts. I’m excited to teach at the Bridge Campus in the fall!

I love to get to know people’s stories and the experiences that have shaped them. I home educated my kids in the classical philosophy for nine years. My passion is to walk the journey of life and parenting with other moms, encouraging and empowering them.

I enjoy all things ‘school’ and education, especially elementary age kids, and feel privileged to be part of the Ambrose Bridge family.

For the past 22 years, my husband, Matt, and I have worked together in full-time church ministry, including church planting in the Pacific Northwest then, worship and family ministry in northern California. We moved here to the Treasure Valley, where my husband grew up. Together we have four amazing kids, and enjoy having people into our home for food and laughter, reading, hiking, and playing music.

I have over six years of teaching experience as a Latin teacher at classical Christian schools. I value how classical Christian education fosters the faith, teaches reason, sparks the imagination, and develops a love for truth, beauty, and goodness. I am originally from the Washington D.C. area and moved to Idaho with my husband. I have a passion for books, baking, biking, and am a proud mama of two adopted cats.

After spending more than fifteen years in front-line service with the federal government, I was introduced to classical education while homeschooling my children overseas in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. During our first year, I read The Well-Trained Mind by Susan Wise Bauer and quickly realized how much was missing from the formation offered by standard American education. As our homeschooling journey continued, I became increasingly committed to classical education. For more than eight years, I led the largest homeschool cooperative in the State of Qatar, and I later completed a Level One Classical Educator Certificate through Classical Academic Press.

After returning to the United States in 2019, I led a classically-focused microschool ministry through my parish church in Henderson, Nevada, before relocating to Boise in 2026. There, I taught Bible, logic, catechism, and Anglican chant, and it was a joy to watch children’s hearts grow more deeply rooted in the Lord. I wholeheartedly agree with St. Theophan the Recluse: “Of all holy works, the education of children is the most holy.”

My husband and I have been blessed with more than thirty years of marriage and two grown sons. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, taking long walks, and riding with my husband on his motorcycle. I look forward to the new opportunities, blessings, and ministry that our home in Idaho will bring.

I started my career teaching 1st grade for seven years in a public-school setting. Stepping away from teaching to start a family, I returned to the classroom when my daughters were old enough to attend school. Frustrated with the public school system, I obtained my Montessori I & II credential, and taught in a 4/5/6 Montessori classroom for another eight years before making the decision to homeschool my daughters. 

Searching for a better environment to raise our daughters, the Lord led us from California to Idaho. We desired an education with a Biblical worldview that would prepare our daughters to stand firm in their faith as they face an ever changing world. Finding The Ambrose Bridge’s program was an answer to our prayers. Ambrose Bridge’s classical approach to education encourages students to become morally and academically responsible and their curriculum equips them with the knowledge they need to engage their world with Christ’s love. I am blessed to be teaching at the Bridge Campus and sharing my love of Jesus with my students, encouraging them to grow in their faith. I look forward to working alongside their parents to give my students the best Christian classical education possible.

My husband, Nathan, and I have been happily married for 23 years and have two beautiful daughters, Audrey and Analise. Our home includes a turtle, bearded dragon, ball python, dog, and three chickens. When I am not shuttling my daughters to ballet, tap, basketball, or golf, I love riding horses, baking and traveling.

I began my teaching career in Phoenix, Arizona teaching at a middle school for ten years.  I taught English, reading and American history to 6th-8th grade students. I also tutored children with special needs, primarily those with a diagnosis of autism or various learning disabilities.  After our children were born, I stepped away from teaching full time … only to jump back in when we homeschooled for a season.  Upon our arrival in Idaho, I began substituting at The Ambrose School, Locust Grove campus  until joining the Bridge community.

I am overjoyed to be teaching at Bridge campus and love teaching about The Good Life, through rich Scripture verses and literary texts, historical events, mathematical equations and scientific wonders! 

I lived in the deserts of Phoenix, Arizona, for way too many years before moving to Boise in 2017.  We have loved the change of scenery and having a season other than summer!  My husband, Ben, and I have been married for 20 years.  We have three children, Joshua, Eli, and Audrey, and a 12-pound toy goldendoodle, Maisy.

My love for Latin began in high school, and I continued studying Greek in college. Years later, while homeschooling my four children using the classical model, Latin once again became central to my life and has remained a lifelong passion. One of my greatest joys is seeing students fully engage with Latin and experience the accomplishment of mastering such a beautiful and ancient language.

I recently moved to Idaho from Louisiana, where I taught Latin, humanities, and mathematics at Ascension Classical School. I have worked in education for more than twenty years in both private and public school settings, and I also founded and directed a classical Christian homeschool cooperative, providing support, academic consulting, and classical education resources to homeschooling families.

I was blessed to be raised in a Christ-centered home. My husband, Steve, is my best friend, and together we have served in ministry for more than twenty years. We are blessed with four children and three wonderful grandsons. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, playing the piano, and capturing God’s creation through photography. My prayer is that the students I teach will grow to love learning and, through every subject they study, come to see the beauty, order, and wisdom of God’s creation. I hope they will learn to think biblically, love what is true, and courageously live out their faith in an increasingly challenging world.

For a decade, I taught Family Consumer Science, Life Skills, and Business Technology classes at the middle school level in Meridian. For a few of those years, I also worked as an Educational Technology Specialist and taught professional development courses to fellow educators at the district level as well as online for Idaho State University.

The Ambrose School has been a blessing beyond what I could have imagined for my son and our family over the last three years. Being a part of the Ambrose community, I have developed an appreciation for Classical Christian Education and the foundation of truth it sets in the hearts and minds of students. I have enjoyed stepping back into the classroom as the 5-Day and Bridge program Graphic Design instructor, to come alongside students and encourage them as they develop publishing skills, creativity, and take ownership over the publication of the yearbook.

I am a native Idahoan and enjoy multigenerational family time, and all that comes with living with and raising our kids around our extended family. I thrive when I can spend time being creative, whether it is gardening, cooking, baking, knitting, sewing, painting, or woodworking.

I started violin at the age of 5 and piano at 9. From 2022-2024, I interned at Eleos Music Academy in California, teaching private lessons, and in 2024, I took a position as a conductor’s assistant at Medea Creek Middle School in Oak Park, California. I participated in the Conejo Valley Youth Orchestras for 8 years and took a strings coaching position there in 2023. Additionally, I held a fellowship with the California Young Artist’s Symphony for 2 years. After moving to Idaho in June of 2024, my sisters and I founded Three Chord Music Academy; a private teaching studio offering piano and violin lessons using a combination of the Suzuki method, fiddle tunes, and various theory books and scale systems. 

In addition to music, I enjoy watercolor painting, baking sourdough, and serving on the worship team and in the kids ministry at my church in Eagle. I was recently married in September and live with my husband, John, on a beautiful two-acre property up in the mountains on the outskirts of Boise.

My faith is an incalculable blessing to me. I grew up as a Christian, and I strive to incorporate kindness and grace into everything I do. After being a child of God, I am a wife, mom of three, and new art instructor intern! I bring a love of creativity and learning to the classroom, fueled by my background in homeschooling (using the classical model) and my own artistic endeavors (painting). 

My formal education is in dental hygiene, and I have been helping people with preventive dental care for 7 years. When I’m not teaching, I can be found baking homemade bread and making yogurt. I also love to cook, exercise, walk, and read. Our family also enjoys exploring the beauty of Idaho – we love camping by the river with our dog!

I studied at Boise State University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2021, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies with minors in French, Music, and Psychology. While studying at Boise State, I discovered my love for teaching piano and accompanying for church services, and continue to hold both as passions to this day. 

I grew up in a home filled with love for Jesus, love for others, and love of music. I spend my free time working on projects with my husband, Hunter, and spending time with family and friends.

My music journey began as early as I can remember. My father was the church choir and orchestra director in his hometown and carried his passion for music into our home. My seven siblings and I grew up learning instruments and using our voices in the church. I began taking private music lessons at the age of seven, and continued to pursue music into my adult life. 

After 20 years of choral and orchestral experience and teaching, the Lord opened the door for me to become a choral instructor in classical education. I am thrilled to be in my ninth year of teaching Music and Choir in a classical Christian school. 

My husband and I have five children, two of which have graduated, and three who still attend Ambrose Bridge. I consider it a great blessing to use my passion for music and love for teaching in Christian education.

I’m a veteran Ambrose mom of two daughters, one of whom started kindergarten at the Locust Grove Campus when the building first opened. I dedicated time as a homeroom parent and volunteered in chess club and tournaments. I also became the liaison placing our school’s exchange students into homes while they attended Ambrose. When Bridge opened, both of my girls transferred into 5th and 8th Grade. I eventually joined the Bridge staff as a Grammar Aide and currently as the PE teacher. Starting into my third year in PE, I can confidently and boldly share that I take great joy in playing loud Christian music for our students in the largest classroom on our campus. This currently helps to ease my open nest at home where it’s just me and the rather talkative tuxedo cat who misses my daughters as much as I do. While the cat sleeps on Sundays, I am part of the worship team at my church that I have been attending since my oldest started kindergarten. I also enjoy time with friends with hot coffee in the morning or iced coffee in the afternoon. I’m still learning to be outdoorsy after living in Idaho for two and a half decades.

I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Hawaii and have always had a love for God’s creation and for adventure. This is our seventh year being a part of Bridge and our children have been so blessed to be a part of this community. We have found that classical Christian education in this collaborative model has enabled our kids to love God and love others more profoundly and deeply in addition to discovering the beauty of God’s truths and goodness. 

After my undergrad in Oahu where I majored in Speech and Psychology, I ventured to Southern California where I studied at Talbot School of Theology and served as a youth pastor. I met my lovely wife, Jerri, and we had three kiddos before moving to Idaho where we had our fourth. Our family of six loves to read God’s word together, play games, ride bikes, float the river, and spend time with family and friends.

I started my education and business career with a Bachelor’s in Secondary Education and a Master’s in Christian School Administration from West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, California. After serving at a church and school for six years, I married Malerie, and we moved to Oregon to be closer to her family. In 2019, I became the owner/operator of three Anytime Fitness gyms, a role I held until 2025, where I was able to coach people of all ages toward better health. That experience, paired with my training in Christian school administration, prepared me for the role I have today as PE Instructor at The Bridge Ambrose School, where I get to help students build strength, character, and a love for movement within a classical Christian community.

As a family, Malerie and I love spending time outdoors and making memories together with our three daughters — Haven, Harmony, and Haleigh.

After college, I worked in a Christian school setting and later served as a hospice Spiritual Care Provider before becoming a mom. My heart has always been to encourage and serve those around me, and above all, to bring glory to God in whatever I do. I moved to Idaho with my husband Nathan and three little girls six years ago, and it has finally begun to feel like home. We are so thankful to be part of the Bridge Program this year and are excited to see all that God will do in and through each of our lives.

I am a mother of five and am passionate about nurturing and educating the whole child. My husband teaches Latin at Ambrose Locust Grove Campus, and together we value classical education that cultivates curiosity, wisdom, and a love of the truth of God’s word. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a Master’s degree in Reading Instruction. Outside of education, I love baking, reading rich literature, and finding a way to make every day joyful.

My journey in classical education began a few years ago when searching for school options for my daughters. As someone who was homeschooled myself as a child, I understood the benefits, challenges, and flexibilities that homeschool provides and therefore homeschooling felt like a natural option for my family. However, once I started full-time homeschooling, I found myself completely overwhelmed with curriculum options and felt like we were also struggling to find a supportive homeschool community. It was at that time that the Lord led us to Bridge, and I am so thankful for the support and community that it has provided both to myself and my children. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the Bridge community this year as an intern. I love learning alongside our students and staff as we pursue what is good, true, and beautiful.

I graduated from Hope College with a Bachelor’s Degree in History, after which I taught social studies in Traverse City, MI. Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s Degree in International Security Studies from the University of Arizona with a focus on American Foreign Policy. During the 2024-2025 school year, I subbed across The Ambrose School system.

My passion for guiding students in their study of history drove me to teach. I am beyond excited for the opportunity to share the story of humanity with Christ at the center. More than anything, I am thrilled to be part of a community that puts the power of the Gospel at the center of everything.

While I am not teaching or working on school, I love spending time with my wonderful wife, Sarah. People know me as a man of many hobbies, all of which allow me to spend time exploring God’s marvelous and mysterious creation. My free time is spent rock climbing, fly fishing, rafting, snowboarding, or tinkering in the garage and gear room.

Born in Dallas, TX, I grew up in the Czech Republic and attended a Montessori school for my primary years of education. My family moved to Minnesota in time for my ninth-grade year at the local public high school. As my high school career came to a close, I chose to enroll at Hope College in Holland, MI and began to pursue my undergraduate degree in Business and French. 

During my college years, I became disenchanted with the prevalent educational framework. That quickly led to an increasing interest in alternative educational models; this primarily grew from the four months I spent in Oregon at a unique and immersive educational program called the Oregon Extension. Upon graduation, I moved to Chicago but when an opportunity to get back to the West and teach within Ambrose’s classical curriculum presented itself, I could not help but pursue it with excitement.

I am looking forward to teaching and developing relationships with a group of young learners. I also hope to make the most of my own opportunity to continue to learn, albeit from the other side of the desk at the front of the classroom.

I am excited to be in Boise and look forward to time with family, biking, camping, skiing, and hopefully an introduction to fly fishing. During my days, I find a good deal of enjoyment in long books, playing or watching most any sport, eclectic live music, large mugs of tea, preparing meals, and learning new skills.

I spent a decade in business development and marketing consulting before homeschooling my four girls in the classical Christian tradition. I have also tutored with Classical Conversations and taught history for several years at another classical school. Three of my girls are enrolled in the Bridge Program, with one graduating in 2024.

My greatest joy comes from helping people, big and little, see the wonder and glory of God and His purpose in all things. Whether it is integrating the gospel while teaching math or helping people see how God reveals himself throughout history and in the order and wonder of science, I have developed a passion for teaching and love watching as eyes light up with understanding.

In my free time, I enjoy writing and speaking, dreaming up business ideas with my husband, Joel, and adventuring with my girls. As a family, we love to hike, camp, Crossfit, run Spartan races, read great literature, and spend time around the table feeding peoples’ bellies and souls.

I have loved living in Idaho for the past few years, prior to which I have lived in Texas, Colorado, and California. I came to Ambrose after ten years of homeschooling my own children in the Classical tradition. During that time, I served as a tutor for Classical Conversations’ Foundations and Essentials programs, as well as serving for a year as Support Representative. I was drawn to Ambrose because of my love for literature and my belief in the value of the Classical model.

Outside Ambrose, you might find me searching for French bakeries, local coffee shops, and unique restaurants. Most often, however, I will be reading all the books and discussing them with friends and family over a large cup of tea.

I have long had an interest in classical education, fostered by my readings of Lewis, Chesterton, Newman, and other Christian luminaries, my experiences at the University of Oxford, and my work as a teacher and homeschool tutor in the humanities. Teaching at the Ambrose School is a welcome opportunity to engage young minds with the great ideas of the Western tradition and the Christian truths which have nourished them.

Though I was born and raised in Los Angeles, I have spent the last decade in England as a student and teacher. Being half-British and half-American, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in the “mother country” – exploring the remains of its castles, cathedrals, and monasteries while immersing myself in medieval studies. During this time I gained my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from Merton College, Oxford (where Tolkien taught before my time), and had the great privilege to work with ancient manuscripts while researching a dissertation on medieval Christianity. 

Far more importantly, while pursuing doctoral studies at Oxford I met my wonderful wife, Jane. We had the joy to be married in the church which was once Tolkien’s home parish, and have since been blessed with many travels around Britain and Europe to explore the wonders of Christendom. Now that I am moving to Boise, where my family have lived for the last decade, I am keen to contribute to the city’s thriving Christian community through my work at Ambrose. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy hiking, camping, reading, writing, and podcasting.

We were first introduced to classical education when seeking out schools for our oldest child over a decade ago. While we were hesitant to dive into an education so different from our own, we were drawn to the way the school integrated Christ into all things as well as the emphasis on educating the whole child, not only through the imparting of information, but also the pouring into their spiritual development. Since then, we have moved several times, experiencing the classical model in different schools as well as having the opportunity to homeschool for several years. Our three girls joined the Bridge campus, where we have been able to see them thrive in the hybrid model, and I enjoy supporting the community we have been so blessed to be a part of.

I was raised in North Carolina, graduated from UNC-Wilmington, and married on the coast before my husband and I made our way west, eventually landing in Idaho seven years ago. We enjoy boating, hiking, four wheeling, gardening, traveling to Montana where my family now lives, and being outside as much as possible during the summer. However, when winter rolls around, you will find me bundled in fifteen layers, browsing airline websites while I plan as many trips as possible back to a warm, Florida beach.

As a dedicated educator and youth mentor, I have teaching, coaching, and leadership experience shaped over more than three decades. I am transitioning into upper school mathematics after more than 30 years spent simplifying complex concepts, leading training programs, and supporting learners of all ages. Before entering the classroom full-time, I built a distinguished career as a project management trainer, instructor, and consultant. I delivered hundreds of workshops for corporate, government, and technology organizations—including Adobe, Ernst & Young, UMT, and Boeing—designing instructional materials, assessments, and hands-on learning experiences. I have also coached middle and high school boys’, girls’, and coed soccer teams for 15 years, and I spent five years teaching elementary-aged children in Bible Study Fellowship and church programs. In my role as House Governor, I look forward to helping lead students to joyfully assume responsibility for cultivating a vibrant, Christ-centered school culture at the Bridge Campus. My long history of mentorship, character development, and youth leadership has prepared me to guide students as they grow in ownership, service, and community life.

My wife, Jody, and I are grateful for the opportunity to support the school that shaped our own family. All three of our children graduated from Ambrose, and one has returned as a teacher, making this new season of service especially meaningful. I look forward to investing in the academic growth, character formation, and community life of upper school students at the Bridge Campus.

I began teaching in 1997 starting with 4th grade, and later moved on to middle school mathematics and reading. The U.S. Air Force gave our family the opportunity to experience eight different schools and learning methods; from public school to homeschooling. Our family favored the Classical Christian model, where our children learned that Christ is at the center of all that we do, and where their affections are continually trained toward Truth, Beauty, and Goodness. While stationed in Virginia, our headmaster at Summit Christian Academy found out that we were Boise-bound for retirement and recommended the Ambrose School as the “gold standard” of Classical Christian schools.

After his retirement from the Air Force, my husband accepted a leadership position at the Saint Alphonsus Medical Group. We were finally returning home to Boise, where my family has lived for over thirty years. Our three oldest children have graduated, and our youngest son is enrolled in the Ambrose Bridge Program.

Our family enjoys spending time outdoors skiing, hiking, hunting, and hanging out together. We attend and serve at Rock Harbor Church in Meridian. I love teaching and serving at the Ambrose Bridge Campus!

B.S. Elementary Education (Grades 2-8), Mathematics concentration, University of Maryland; M.A. Public Policy and Leadership, Liberty University

I joined the Ambrose faculty in 2018. My childhood education consisted of a little bit of everything: private Christian school, public charter school, and homeschooling. My sophomore year in high school, my parents enrolled me at Ambrose. I quickly fell in love with classical education because I personally experienced how it changed me. It strengthened my faith, molded my loves, and grew my intellect. Although I pursued a degree in mathematics, my love for classical education prompted me to continue my classical education in college through the Torrey Honors Institute at Biola. 

My passion is the integration of faith and mathematics. Throughout history, most great mathematicians were also theologians and philosophers. This is because they not only saw all knowledge as integrated and centered on Christ, but they saw a deep connection between the subjects—a connection we have greatly lost in modernity. I believe that classical education can be extended beyond humanities to the math classroom as well. Just as we ask big questions of Great Books, we can also ask questions of mathematics and discover truths about creation and the Creator. I believe that a mastery of mathematics can be achieved by anyone, and I hope to expose students to the beauty and creativity in mathematics and pass on a love for the subject and for its Creator.

I met my husband, Brandon, at Biola University (in math class!), and we were married in 2017. I was born and raised in Boise and am grateful to be back in the Treasure Valley. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me paddleboarding with Brandon, trying new recipes and restaurants, traveling, or working on projects around our house.

I was born and raised in Texas, where I was a student at a classical, university-style school from fifth through twelfth grade. This fostered a lasting love of learning, meaningful discussion, and curiosity about the world around me. I graduated from Baylor University in 2025, where I discovered a love for chemistry and became involved in pharmaceutical research and healthcare ethics initiatives.

I recently married my husband, Liam, and we have loved this new season of life together after moving to Idaho. I love spending my free time knitting or creating something in the kitchen. Running has become one of my favorite ways to enjoy God’s creation and spend time outdoors, while cooking from scratch combines my love of chemistry, good food, and serving others. More often than not, you can probably find me with a coffee close by.

I like to start out our family meals with the following words, “Bless the Lord, O my soul,” and my family responds, “and all that is within me, bless his holy name.” Our family is drawn to Classical Christian education because we share the vision of an approach where all that is within a child is trained to bless the Lord. We are drawn to Ambrose Bridge because we believe that the family has a unique advantage in discipling, and more time that is spent there well promises success.

We came to Boise to plant Redeemer Baptist Church in 2021. Concurrently, I serve the local community as a clinic nurse at St. Alphonsus. And now I am eager to pursue my passion of teaching and discipling students at Ambrose Bridge. I have been married to my wife, Irina, for 19 years, and we have three children, who serve the Lord with us: Sophia, David, and John.

I graduated with a B.A. in History from Grove City College in 2026. Before attending Grove City, I was a student at The Ambrose School from seventh through twelfth grade, and I currently serve as an intern for the Bridge Campus.

This will be my first year teaching junior high students, and I am grateful to have learned from outstanding instructors and professors both at home and abroad. My nine years of experience in classical Christian education have shaped my understanding of and appreciation for the true, the good, and the beautiful. I am excited to share my love of history, literature, and the Christian faith with my students as we explore how God’s glory is revealed through the people and events of the past.

I am a native Idahoan, and after spending three years in Pennsylvania for college, I am thrilled to return home to serve fellow believers in the Northwest. Outside the classroom, you can usually find me camping, hiking, collecting artifacts, working on my family’s farm, or reading whenever I have the chance.

Although I have had the privilege of doing Christian homeschooling during most of my years of primary and secondary education, I attended the Bridge Campus of the Ambrose School for my senior year. My time there was a wonderful experience of community and friendship, as well as exposure to both the methods and goals of Christian classical education, which I quickly found myself appreciating and enjoying. Instead of simply learning facts, class discussions and classical readings directed me to think deeper about my priorities, and discover the Great Conversation of thinkers throughout history. After graduating, I am excited to continue working at the Bridge Campus and helping teachers give other students the education that I have experienced and greatly appreciate.
