WHY: We often get the question of WHY we have dances at Ambrose. . .

Dances are a great way to enjoy the gifts of music, movement and friends. But more than that, dances are a way for us to serve each other.

Now, I know what you are thinking. No dance that you remember from high school seemed like a healthy way for teenagers to interact. But we conduct our dances at Ambrose very differently. We teach our students dances so that they come knowing what to do. We also teach them manners so that they learn to treat each other, especially people of the opposite sex, with deference and kindness. We also teach students to see these dances as a place to serve one another. It takes a lot of selflessness for a junior high boy to ask a girl to dance!

Come visit our dances and you will see an event completely different than your own junior high or high school experience!

How can you help?
We are looking for a few moms and dads to help with food for the night. It’s going to be simple: Grapes, pretzels, candy. (Students don’t eat a lot at a dance we have discovered).

Also if you want to help with set up, we are decorating on the 28th at 3pm. We could use many people to make light work.

If you are interested in helping, please contact Melody Tracy.
