Goals for Our Graduates

Equipped for Life

At The Ambrose School, our mission is to cultivate students who embody virtue, wisdom, and eloquence, preparing them to engage thoughtfully and faithfully with the world. We strive to develop graduates who are not only academically accomplished but also grounded in Christian faith and character.

Over the course of their education, we equip our students to become well-rounded individuals, having gained a strong foundation in the humanities, mathematics, natural sciences, world languages, and the performing and applied arts. This comprehensive educational approach ensures that our graduates are prepared to lead and serve in their communities with integrity and purpose.

From pre-K through 12th grade, an Ambrose education is shaped with the following goals in mind:

Virtue and Mature Character

We focus on heart-obedience, good manners, honorable relationships, self-control, and Christian leadership. Through great literature and the Bible, students learn to order their affections and live Coram Deo—in the presence of God—at all times.

LITERACY WITH A BROAD EXPOSURE TO BOOKS

Educated individuals engage with great works of literature, science, art, architecture, and music. We expect our graduates to be well-read and able to discuss key ideas in Christian theology and Western thought.

MASTERFUL COMMAND OF LANGUAGE

Language is essential to learning and faith. A strong command of language allows us to understand Scripture and ideas beyond our own experiences. Through Latin, English, and Greek studies, our students develop advanced vocabulary, grammar, and translation skills.

WELL-ROUNDED COMPETENCE

A well-educated person is knowledgeable in many areas, not just one. Our students develop skills in fine arts, drama, music, athletics, math, logic, and science, ensuring they graduate as well-rounded individuals.

SOUND REASON AND FAITH

We teach students to develop a unified Christian worldview, using Scripture as the standard of truth. They learn to navigate complex issues with wisdom and understand the impact of ideas.

AN ESTABLISHED AESTHETIC

Educated people develop good taste by experiencing great artistic masterpieces, especially from a young age. We cultivate students’ appreciation for beauty by exposing them to great artists and their works.
