Every student in grades 7-12 is enrolled in our House program, which provides an opportunity for physical education, academic and athletic competition, and leadership training. This program brings down barriers as it builds relationships across age groups. Our six Houses–Whitefield, Winthrop, Tennent, Schaeffer, Edwards, and Bradford– compete in a variety of events. Music & Drama
Our Performing Arts program provides students an opportunity to pursue excellence through music and drama. Our goal is for every student to have a fundamental grasp of music. We regularly sing hymns and other challenging pieces collectively as a school. We also train younger students in general music theory. Our drama program is designed to train students in the art of Shakespearean language, as well as to build confidence and oratory skills for our Rhetoric program and thesis defense.
7-12 programs include:
- Devoveo Choir
- Gaudeo (Honors) Choir
- The Ambrose Orchestra (audition out of beginning orchestra)
- Honors Orchestra (audition only)
- High school Jazz Ensemble
- High school drama
- Jr. High Drama
- Girls Volleyball
- Boys & Girls Basketball
- Boys & Girls Cross Country
- Boys Lacrosse
Mock Trial Team (Idaho State Bar Association)
One of the top programs in the state, our mock trial team took first place at the 2014 Idaho state championships, and has qualified for state each of the past eight years.
The Ambrose Mock Trial teams have beaten out much larger public high schools like Boise, Centennial, Blackfoot, and Lewiston High Schools, evidence of the leadership development in the area of logic, law, and improvisational speaking.
